After joining an EDI & Supply Chain software company in 2001 as an Installation Engineer, Ian worked in every single role in software development, delivery, and service, other than as a developer. A large part of that time has been focusing on requirements, working with clients, understanding outcomes, and working with developers to transpose diagrams and words into code. In Feb 2024, he was disillusioned with the corporate world and quit to set up his own business to provide BA & Product Management services on a contracting & consultancy basis, along with delivering WordPress websites, consulting, and support to solopreneurs and small businesses. Ian is married to an amazing Irish girl from Co. Clare, and we live in South Manchester. Outside of work, he loves to be outdoors walking in the hills, along beaches, or just by the River Mersey near where we live.
Curiosity didn't kill the cat - 20+ years of asking questions. His 3 foundational pillars on which to build discovery. His 5W1H approach to delivering outcomes. Who, What, Why, When, Where, then the How. Along with being ready to answer the “So What” question.
